Birding in Nepal & Bhutan

Day 01: Delhi-Kathmandu

Meals: not included today, room only Fly Delhi-Kathmandu in the evening. You will be met and transferred to the hotel in Kathmandu.
Overnight stay in Hotel Royal Singhi or similar.

Day 02: Kathmandu-Phulchowki-Kathmandu

Meals: breakfast Full day birding tour at Phulchowki.
Overnight stay in Hotel Royal Singhi or similar.

Day 03: Kathmandu-Chitwan National Park

Meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner Early morning drive to Chitwan National Park (5 hours). Check-in at the wildlife lodge. Afternoon birding with a guide at Royal Chitwan Park.
Overnight in Chitwan Jungle Lodge or similar.

Day 04 & 05: Chitwan National Park

Meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner Early morning park visit on an elephant / jeep. In the afternoon, set out for bird watching in the canoes.
Overnight in Chitwan Jungle Lodge or similar.

Day 06: Chitwan National Park-Kathmandu

Meals: breakfast Morning birding in the park. Drive to Kathmandu stopping en route for birding (5-6 hr.). Overnight stay in Hotel Royal Singhi or similar.

Day 07: Kathmandu-Paro

Meals: breakfast & dinner Fly to Paro by Druk Air. Look for Ibisbill in Paru chu near the car park. Transfer to the hotel. Go birding at Paro chu again.
Overnight in Hotel Olathang or similar.

Day 08: Paro-Thimphu

Meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner Morning birding tour along the river Paro chu. After breakfast, visit the Natural History Museum at Ta Dzong. Afternoon drive to the capital city of Thimpu stopping en route to look for Ibisbill and other birds. Afternoon birding on the way to Jigme Dorji National Park.
Overnight stay Hotel River View or similar.

Day 09: Thimpu-Phobjhika

Meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner Leave very early in the morning for Phobjhika (6 hr.) stopping enroute for an hour at Dochula for birding. After lunch visit the Gangtey Gompa (monastery). Evening birding in Phobjhika valley.
Overnight stay in a guest house.

Day 10: Phobjhika-Punakha

Meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner. Early morning walk to the bogs to see the black-necked cranes. Return to the guest house for breakfast. Drive to Punakha.
Overnight in Hotel Zangtopelri or similar.

Day 11: Punakha

Meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner A short walk along River Mo Chu and the surrounding forests are very productive for birding.
Overnight stay in Hotel Zangtopelri or similar.

Day 12: Punakha-Thimpu

Meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner Drive to Thimpu (3½ hr.) stopping for birding en route. Afternoon proceed to the entrance of Jigmey Dorji National Park for birding till sunset.
Overnight stay Hotel River View or similar.

Day 13: Thimpu-Paro

Meals: breakfast, lunch & dinner Morning visit to the zoo to see Takin and for birding. Drive to Paro (3 hr.). Overnight in Hotel Olathang or similar.

Day 14: Paro-Delhi / Calcutta

Meals: not included today Connect flight to onward destination
