They are the most mammoth wild animals that exist on land here on this earth after the whales of the sea. In general their brain weighs 5 kgs and this is an enormous figure. They are about 2 tons in weight and by contrast the average weight of the African Elephants is 4-7 tons.
The Asian elephants have been incarcerated, disciplined by men for more than 4,000 years. Their heart beat rate is 28 per minute. The trunks of the elephants are endowed with 100,000 muscles. This makes it very adroit. The presence of a single finger in Asiatic elephants distinguishes it from the presence of double fingers in the African Elephants. The ears of the elephants are far more superior to the humans and they are enriched with greater number of amplifiers enabling them to hear more from the far distance. The elephants do not possess any canine teeth but there is the presence of the molar teeth and by this they can crush their foods. The population of Indian Elephants is about 10,000 - 15,000. Their basic social structure is made up of small families and they generally move in groups.
